Community Projects

Our guild has a group of quilters who gather on the first Monday of each month (3rd Monday in September) to work on quilts to give away to those in need. Anyone is welcome. You do not need to bring your machine -- Nancy East has seven!! You show up with a sack lunch whenever you can, and work as long as you like.

When: 9 am to 3 pm (but come and go when suits you)
Where: Nancy East's house. It's near the Auction barn where Interstate 55 and Hiway 61 (aka Kingshighway in Cape).
What will you do: There are lots of jobs -- sew, press, cut, pin, whatever you'd like to do
Who benefits: Quilts have gone to the Safe House, Shepherd's Cove (a home for children), to be given out by the Sherriff to car wreck victims, lap quilts for nursing homes,.....
What if I cannot come? You can participate as a Take Home project. Take home some fabric and make a top, take home a top and quilt it, take home a quilted top and bind it, take home a top and tie it,.... Just ask Nancy East, or her committee, or email webmaster.
